Tourism in Chiclana de la Frontera
Both beaches are of fine golden sand and the waves are not very strong, what makes it ideal to enjoy swimming. It has all kind of services and are easily accessible, you can go by bus from the very same town of Chiclana.
La Barrosa in particular has 7 kilometers of beach surrounded by dunes and cliffs and with a golf course if you want to enjoy this kind of sport near the sea. The first part of this beach is quiet urbanized , you'll find all kind of restaurants and bars, but the second part remains a pristine beach. At the end of this part it has a unique urbanization with an equestrian center and everything else, called The Novo, where it is very famous to stay while visiting Chiclana. This luxurious complex joins with the beach of Sancti Petri, a beach of just two kilometers length, located opposite of the andalusian island from where it got its name, next to it is the village of Sancti Petri, which has a marina and fishing port, a yacht club and a sailing school, and with a ferry service to arrange Sea excursions. This village was abandoned, once in the past it was a settlement of tuna fishermens who endured their footprint on this abandoned town which remains of many buildings, and are making it one of the most pleasant walks if you are coming to Chiclana.
In this area it has only two big discos: The Bongo and the Duende disco, particularly for adolescents, however, at the beach are many restaurants which are offering dinner including shows, such as the bar-pub La Laja... one of the best known pubs in Barrosa.
At night we will not have any problems to find fun in the more urbanized areas of the beach, as it has many options in the summer, it does have lots of locals to choose.
To visit in Chiclana, it is very typical to organize boat trips on the Guadalquivir River to visit the Doñana National Park, or going to Jerez and enjoy the horse shows at the Royal School of Art Equestrian.
